Clone: 4F4;
Host/Isotype: Mouse IgG1;
Immunogen: RNP’s eluted from oligo (dT) cellulose column
Myeloma/fusion partners: SP2/0;
Specificity: This antibody recognizes the two HNRNP C proteins of 41kDa (C1) and 43kDa (C2) in human cells, and the corresponding proteins in monkey hamster & chicken. Does cross react with mouse in IP, but not IB
Purification: Protein A;
Format: Purified antibody (from supernatant) containing PBS + 0.1% sodium azide;
Applications: E; IF; IP; WB (after antigen concentration);
View Applications KeyDilutions: Optimal antibody dilution should be determined by titration, however as a guideline try around 1:100000 for western blot
Relevance: The hnRNPs are RNA binding proteins and they complex with heterogeneous nuclear RNA (hnRNA). These proteins are associated with pre-mRNAs in the nucleus and appear to influence pre-mRNA processing and other aspects of mRNA metabolism and transport. While all of the hnRNPs are present in the nucleus, some seem to shuttle between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. The HNRNP proteins have distinct nucleic acid binding properties. HNRNP C1 and C2 are encoded by one gene; the two alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.
