B Cell’s, bone cells, are key to the humoral immune response and antibody responses thereof. B Cells indentify foreign antigens to eliminate specific pathogens. Once identified B Cells produce antibodies which target the specific bacteria or virus.
Post response, one consequent benefit to the organism is a memory effect whereby the antibody response pathway is now pre-programmed. In the event of any future infection or pathogenic invasion the memory effect encourages a swifter and dedicated response.
