Transcription RNA Synthesis

RNA is synthesised by a specialist enzyme RNA polymerase in the transcription process based on the core DNA template. The process begins with the enzyme binding to the appropriate region of DNA, and this triggers the double helix to begin unwinding. The process progresses along the targeted DNA strand and produces a complementary RNA molecule. The RNA molecule may be modified post synthesis.
